The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) equips graduates with advanced technical accounting expertise, refined analytical and communication capabilities, and exceptional interpersonal skills to launch or advance their accounting careers in under a year.
LSU's MAcc program serves as a fifth-year professional degree that delivers deeper accounting and business insights than undergraduate studies. Participants gain expert-level accounting knowledge, enhance their analytical thinking, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal abilities. This curriculum readies students for accounting roles across public firms, corporations, financial institutions, government agencies, and nonprofits.
The 30-credit, non-thesis program primarily targets accounting undergraduates, though outstanding applicants from other fields may qualify. Graduates fulfill Louisiana's 150-hour educational prerequisite for CPA licensure upon program completion.
