The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) program is designed for independent, imaginative students who thrive beyond conventional academic boundaries.
Modern employers increasingly seek versatile thinkers capable of approaching issues from diverse angles. The BIS program offers a comprehensive education while allowing you to customize your curriculum to align with your career aspirations and creative vision.
This degree requires three minor concentrations along with a culminating experience course, University Studies (UNST) 3900. With guidance from LSU's College of Humanities & Social Sciences advisors throughout your journey, UNST 3900 helps you develop a digital professional portfolio that demonstrates to potential employers how you can integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines to address real-world challenges.
International students who have never attended a post-secondary education institution will apply as a freshman (first-year student), and must have the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma with an academic average equivalent to a “B” (3.0 or better on the U.S. 4-point grading system). Entry requirements may vary from country by country.
