The Master of Health Administration degree offers an extensive curriculum designed to prepare students for management and leadership roles in today's dynamic healthcare landscape. This 36-credit program addresses both practical and conceptual issues in the field, covering essential subjects such as organizational frameworks, healthcare policy evaluation, and healthcare administration.
The curriculum includes 18 foundation credits with courses like: Public Administration Principles, Organizational Theory in Public Sector, Economic Factors in Public Sector, Analytical Approaches, Management Information Systems, and Health Care Administration Policy Processes.
The Advanced Core (nine credits) delves into public administration topics through classes such as: Personnel Management, Budgeting and Financial Essentials, and Legal Aspects of Administration. The program concludes with nine elective credits and a thesis. Full-time students can finish in slightly more than two years. All M.H.A. classes are held on-campus at LIU Post, with evening and weekend options available.
