At LIU Brooklyn, doctoral candidates and faculty are deeply immersed in research, clinical practice, and academic studies, yet the Psychology Department on the 8th floor maintains a surprisingly calm atmosphere. Stepping through the program's light wood doors reveals contemporary glass-partitioned spaces, warm lighting, and students comfortably conversing on sofas. The true essence emerges in subtle moments—a professor guiding a student through research methodology, an advanced peer helping a newcomer interpret statistical data, or the lighthearted banter between faculty and teaching assistants during morning greetings. These supportive interactions set LIU's graduate experience apart, replacing competitive tension with shared aspirations, teamwork, and mutual growth as both academics and practitioners. a doctoral student

The Psychology Department's Ph.D. program occupies the Humanities Building's 8th floor, featuring offices, meeting spaces, and a student lounge, with additional research laboratories on the 6th floor. First-time visitors frequently remark on the space's appealing design. The building's ground level hosts an art gallery and the Kumble Theater, while its position bordering the campus's central green space provides urban graduate students with a peaceful retreat in bustling downtown Brooklyn. Manhattan is conveniently accessible via nearby subway connections.
