Qualification Requirements

Applicants for the Ed.D. in Transformational Leadership must hold at least a master's degree in education or a related field. Additionally, all applicants must have at least three years of successful teaching, leadership or equivalent experience in educational practice. Admission decisions will be based on the following factors: academic proficiency, professional accomplishments, proposed intellectual focus and potential for completing a rigorous program. Applicants to the Ed.D. Program must complete the Long Island University Online Application for Admission. Official undergraduate and graduate transcript(s) from any college(s) you have attended. Photocopies or student copies are not considered official. Three letters of recommendation are required. These letters should be written by persons who can comment from personal knowledge on the academic and/or professional qualifications of the applicant. Write a statement describing your educational and professional goals and discuss what you hope to gain from doctoral study at Long Island University. Submit a curriculum vitae or r'sum, indicating at least three years of successful teaching, leadership or equivalent experience in educational practice.
