The LIU Brooklyn BFA in Film & Television offers an immersive degree program designed to equip students with professional skills for the film and visual effects fields. Through practical, project-based learning across various genres, students gain hands-on experience from their very first semester using cutting-edge equipment and receiving guidance from industry experts.

This 36-credit BFA program blends core theory courses with practical training, giving students a solid grounding in film history, technology, and artistic principles. The curriculum emphasizes active participation in film production every semester. During their junior year, students undertake an intensive 12-credit Filmmaking Studio sequence (A-D), complemented by 21 credits of specialized electives in areas like directing, cinematography, or visual effects. The program includes mandatory internships at New York media companies and culminates in a 6-credit thesis project, developed with faculty mentorship and presented during the final semester's thesis review.
