LIU Global provides a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies, a field that examines the interconnected political, economic, cultural, and ecological systems shaping our world. This program empowers emerging leaders with the knowledge to tackle challenges that cross national and disciplinary lines, fostering the ability to create solutions at local, national, regional, and global scales. The curriculum focuses on six critical issues impacting human welfare:

Economic disparities, poverty, and livelihood access
Social inequities: gender, race, ethnicity, and development
Climate change, renewable energy, and environmental decline
Urban growth and sustainable communities
Warfare, conflict, and displaced populations
Justice, discrimination, and human rights
LIU Global helps students understand how these challenges manifest differently across regions, cultivating adaptability and empathy as they explore localized responses. By examining each issue through diverse perspectives, students develop the analytical and problem-solving skills needed for these multifaceted problems. The program's core analytical framework consists of four key lenses:

Environmental
Political
Cultural
Economic
A structured core curriculum builds students' ability to apply these lenses, revealing how each highlights specific dimensions of global issues while obscuring others. By comparing perspectives, locations, and the interplay of contributing factors, students learn to navigate the complexity that defines these enduring global challenges.

Hands-on learning is fundamental to LIU Global's approach. Classroom concepts come alive through site visits, field excursions, and immersive experiences like homestays, service projects, and internships. This practical focus, combined with global issue engagement, creates an action-oriented education. Students grow through direct experience, approaching their host communities as learners and collaborators. This requires open dialogue, humility, and partnership with those most affected by the global challenges central to the curriculum. Through these experiences, students develop relationships built on mutual respect, harnessing collective knowledge and determination to address these pressing global concerns.
