Build a profound understanding of visual communication while enhancing your perception and ability to articulate observations with greater depth and expressiveness. Lewis’ Department of Art & Design emphasizes a fine arts methodology for developing visual literacy. Our core curriculum immerses you in diverse artistic theories and techniques—expanding beyond your existing interests to uncover new artistic horizons and explore how digital advancements are transforming opportunities for fine artists.
A drawing concentration is fundamentally a fine arts major. Students in this program will sharpen their visual perception and refine their personal expression. They will establish a solid fine arts foundation and gain insight into the significance of visual communication. This program equips students for advanced graduate studies.
Applicants must have graduated from an approved high school with a combination of grade point average, class rank, and ACT or SAT score which indicates a strong likelihood of success in university studies.
Applicants must have accumulated 18 high school units. Three of those units should be in English; the remaining 15 units should be chosen from a college preparatory curriculum.
