The Lehigh history department provides undergraduate and graduate programs with a Public History focus, equipping students to present history to broader audiences through museums, historical organizations, and non-profits. Through practical experience, participants develop professional skills in this program. You could craft exhibit narratives using artifact collections, produce promotional content for community history initiatives, or develop sought-after digital history projects. Lehigh offers an undergraduate major/minor, M.A., and Ph.D., with public history specializations at both levels, plus a graduate certificate and minor in documentary filmmaking. Students must fulfill either Plan I or Plan II requirements within six years of enrollment to earn the M.A. degree.
