Cognitive Science can be pursued as an independent Major, while also serving as an excellent supplement to disciplines like Anthropology, Biological Sciences, Computer Science, Design Arts, Philosophy, and Psychology. This field explores the fascinating frontier of intelligence, scientifically investigating minds and brains—whether human, animal, natural, or artificial. Scholars examine perception, comprehension, learning, and behavior in humans, animals, and machines. They seek to uncover the essence of intelligence and its emergence from physical matter. Research explores how insights into human cognition can enhance machine capabilities, and how artificial intelligence can support human thinking. Investigations also focus on cognitive development and dysfunction in biological and artificial systems. As an inherently multidisciplinary field, Cognitive Science integrates approaches and findings from psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, anthropology, philosophy, and computer science.
