The Bachelor of Science in Education with a focus on Integrated Social Studies equips future educators to become intentional, thoughtful practitioners who guide students in strengthening democratic values and advancing societal welfare. This curriculum cultivates teacher candidates who draw insights from hands-on experience, participate in cooperative learning initiatives to enhance pupil achievement and ongoing development, establish inclusive learning environments, design purposeful instructional activities and evaluations, and perceive themselves as curriculum architects who understand that social studies extends beyond textbook content and standardized frameworks.
Program Educational Objectives
Upon completing this program, graduates will demonstrate the ability to:
Design and deliver instruction centered on investigative approaches aligned with the College, Career and Civic (C3) Framework supported by the National Council for the Social Studies.
Create learning experiences that foster student participation, honor diverse viewpoints, and cultivate respectful dialogue among differing perspectives.
Build fair and just classroom communities that uphold democratic principles and equal opportunities for every student.
