The Political Science Bachelor of Arts program equips students to become active global participants and discerning information users, preparing them for diverse career paths. Alumni pursue opportunities in both government and business sectors throughout the U.S. and internationally, with many continuing to advanced degree programs or law school.
Majors gain access to valuable internships and international study options, featuring two full-semester, 15-credit internship placements in Washington, D.C. and Columbus, Ohio. The Political Science Department also provides summer study-abroad courses in various nations, while students frequently participate in Kent State's programs located in Florence, Italy and Geneva, Switzerland.

The International Relations-Comparative Politics specialization examines global policy and governance, covering areas such as humanitarian aid, energy resources, human rights, and specific world regions (including Latin America, the Middle East, and Russia).
