The Department of Applied Human Sciences provides a Master of Science program in Communication Sciences and Disorders. This CSD program aims to train skilled clinicians capable of assisting both children and adults experiencing challenges with speech, language, or swallowing functions (commonly known as speech-language pathology). This full-time master's program spans two years, with enrollment options beginning in either summer/fall or spring semesters. The program's educational objectives include-
1. Equipping speech-language pathologists for versatile roles across various professional settings while adhering to evidence-based practices,
2. Offering students insights into the evolving societal role of speech-language pathologists and demonstrating how research drives these developments,
3. Promoting an interdisciplinary approach to understanding human communication disorders,
4. Delivering the necessary coursework and clinical training to meet national competency standards and qualify for ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
