The Graduate Wind Conducting Program at Peabody Conservatory, led by Harlan Parker, equips students with advanced training and hands-on opportunities to refine their technique while delving into wind band and chamber ensemble repertoire. This program awards both Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees. Participants engage in weekly lessons and seminars with Dr. Parker, while also observing Peabody Wind Ensemble rehearsals and leading sectional practices.
Wind conducting students periodically guest conduct the Peabody Wind Ensemble in public performances. Further opportunities include directing works on student composition recitals and collaborating with soloists needing ensemble accompaniment. Graduate students also contribute as producers for the Peabody Wind Ensemble Recording Project.
