The accelerating depletion of Earth's natural resources, excessive waste generation, environmental degradation, and climate shifts represent just a few of the ecological challenges endangering both human health and our planet's future - challenges you'll be prepared to address through our environmental engineering certificate or master's program. Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals' environmental engineering graduate programs are led by faculty spearheading groundbreaking environmental projects. These accomplished educators will train you in cutting-edge methods for developing engineering solutions to these intricate, multidisciplinary issues.
Using dynamic digital learning platforms and online instruction, our seasoned professors explore the fundamental principles behind biological, physical, and chemical treatment processes, equipping students to design and oversee practical environmental projects. Our flexible online graduate programs in environmental engineering empower you to: Implement engineering and management strategies for municipal solid waste challenges by mastering modern landfill, incineration, transfer station, and processing facility technologies.
Utilize core water treatment fundamentals when designing key components of drinking water systems, distribution networks, wastewater collection infrastructure, and treatment processes.
Gain expertise in hazardous waste handling, storage, and disposal operations.
Assess environmental and public health risks while proposing cost-efficient solutions for waste elimination, pollution reduction, and energy conservation.
Except as provided herein, applicants must be in the last semester of undergraduate study at or hold a bachelor’s or graduate degree from a US regionally accredited college or university. While there is no automatic prohibition of the admission of students from US nationally accredited colleges or universities, EP retains the right to assess an applicant’s courses and/or degrees earned from one of those institutions to determine their academic readiness for the Program. Applicants who hold degrees from international institutions are encouraged to apply and must meet requirements found on EP’s International Applicants webpage.
Admitted students typically have earned a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (B or above) in the latter half of their undergraduate studies (when reviewing an application, the candidate’s academic and professional background will be considered).
Applicants must submit official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
No GRE is required.
