The Master of Arts in Audio Sciences program was collaboratively designed with industry experts to equip students with both technical expertise and musical proficiency for advanced careers in audio and acoustics. This program serves two key audiences: experienced audio professionals pursuing a graduate-level qualification, and science, technology, or music graduates looking to acquire specialized skills for entering the audio/acoustics workforce.
Admission requires an undergraduate degree in music, physics, engineering, audio technology, or architecture. Students should have a strong background in math and science from their undergraduate work or high school, of particular interest are Calculus and Physics. Students otherwise qualified may be accepted into the degree program with added requirements that are to be taken concurrent with their first year of study or during the summer at a department chair-approved school of their choice. International students must demonstrate competencies in English commensurate with expectations for Peabody’s Master of Music degree program.
Students must have IELTS Academic Band Score equal to 7, or a minimum score of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), and 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
