Our PhD program leverages these strengths to offer comprehensive training tailored for exceptional, inquisitive graduate students eager to both learn from and enrich our academic community.
PhD candidates gain specialized expertise in one primary and one secondary field (or two primary fields), selecting from American politics, comparative politics, international relations, law and politics, or political theory. They may also earn a certificate in comparative racial politics. The program fosters close faculty mentorship and independent research, while facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration across social sciences and humanities.
A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and results of the Graduate Record Examination are required for application.
Students must have IELTS Academic Band Score equal to 7, or a minimum score of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), and 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
