The Chemistry-Biology Interface (CBI) doctoral program equips students with interdisciplinary skills to bridge the conventional divides between chemistry and biology. Graduates of this program earn a PhD in chemical biology. CBI builds upon Johns Hopkins University's rich history of interdisciplinary research. Our program joined a select group of about 20 NIH-funded CBI training programs across the country. Furthermore, the Maryland Higher Education Commission authorized the creation of a chemical biology PhD program at Johns Hopkins, acknowledging the distinctive academic path CBI students undertake.
Students interested in pursuing multidisciplinary research to gain a broad perspective in chemistry and biology are encouraged to apply to the Chemistry-Biology Interface (CBI) PhD program.
