The Combined Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering (BS/MSE) program allows undergraduate students to enroll in graduate-level courses while still completing their bachelor's degree. Typically, students apply during their third year and complete both degrees within a five-year timeframe.
Your undergraduate and graduate fields of study don't need to be identical. For instance, numerous computer science undergraduates opt for this program to pursue a Master's in Security Informatics. This pathway also serves as an option instead of pursuing dual majors in related disciplines, like pairing computer science with computer engineering or mathematics. As a participant in this combined program, you'll need to fulfill all bachelor's and master's degree requirements. Be aware that certain departments may allow a maximum of two overlapping courses between degrees, while all other coursework, including undergraduate electives, must remain distinct for each degree.
