Our Italian program provides undergraduate majors and minors, doctoral studies, and chances for student engagement in research and international study. The department hosts an extensive calendar of events featuring guest lectures, film viewings, and discussions with writers, filmmakers, artists, and experts. Undergraduate offerings cover Italian language instruction from introductory to advanced levels, alongside literature, cinema, and cultural studies. The PhD curriculum focuses on three interconnected domains: literary history, textual criticism, and interpretive theory, incorporating pedagogical training. Graduate students contribute to Modern Language Notes, a leading scholarly publication in the discipline.
