Environmental science explores Earth's living and nonliving systems and humanity's relationship with them. You'll discover how to drive behavioral changes that address environmental and sustainability challenges, with a focus on natural sciences. ENVS students can opt for either a BS in Environmental Science, concentrating on natural sciences, or a BA in Environmental Studies, emphasizing social sciences and humanities. Both programs offer a robust, interdisciplinary foundation in environmental and social dimensions of our evolving planet, equipping graduates for diverse career paths.
Two key elements of the ENVS curriculum equip students with practical knowledge for career decisions and environmental solutions. The Applied Experience requires at least 80 hours of environmental or sustainability-related work through internships, research, volunteering, or employment with organizations like private firms, nonprofits, universities, or government agencies. This hands-on component helps students develop real-world skills while exploring professional opportunities in the environmental sector.
