The School of Writing, Rhetoric and Technical Communication brings together outstanding faculty, committed staff, skilled students, and enthusiastic alumni within one of America's few independent programs focused on applied writing disciplines.
WRTC provides a comprehensive curriculum and diverse experiential learning opportunities. Students develop essential research, analytical, and technical abilities that prepare them for professional communication careers and advanced academic pursuits. Our faculty includes experts and practitioners across multiple specialties: rhetoric and composition, technical and scientific communication, creative nonfiction, professional writing, digital media, user experience design, gender studies, medical rhetoric, science studies, and environmental writing.
Our B.A. and B.S. programs integrate three academic fields into an adaptable yet theoretically rigorous curriculum. WRTC degrees cultivate interdisciplinary thinking and proficiency across various writing, rhetorical, and technical communication formats.
