The religion concentration explores the world's principal faith traditions—Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—along with their diverse cultural manifestations. The curriculum covers Eastern and Western religions, Biblical studies, ethics, religion's societal impact, and theological thought. Religion students examine intersections between faith and other disciplines like literature, politics, medicine, history, and the arts. The program equips students to evaluate religion's influence in modern social and political spheres, both domestically and internationally.

Our program readies graduates for an evolving world. Philosophy concentrators examine both ancient and modern philosophical debates, tackling fundamental questions while refining critical analysis. Religion concentrators explore scholarly approaches to global faiths, studying sacred texts, practices, historical developments, and ethical systems while developing skills to bridge ideological differences. The interdisciplinary philosophy and religion tracks enable students to design personalized majors by incorporating up to nine credits from outside the department.
