The School of Education and Division of Teaching, Learning, Leadership and Policy provides a Master of Education (M.Ed.) program specializing in science education. This 30-credit graduate degree enhances the professional skills of current educators. Our faculty specialize in innovative science instruction, promoting equity in STEM fields, interdisciplinary elementary STEM approaches, training future science teachers, and supporting practicing educators through professional development. Science education professors frequently partner on research projects with SOE peers, university-wide collaborators (including engineering departments), and national partners. For those pursuing teaching certification, our Educator Preparation Program is available. Candidates holding a bachelor's degree in science or related disciplines who aspire to teach grades 5-12 science should consider our Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) science education program, which includes certification preparation.
