The School of Education and Division of Teaching, Learning, Leadership and Policy provides a doctoral program in Education with a specialization in educational technology (EdTech). This Ph.D. concentration in educational technology is renowned for developing research scholars who investigate critical challenges in EdTech across both structured (such as P-20) and unstructured learning settings.
Faculty members bring expertise in areas like cutting-edge technologies and digital platforms, game-based education, virtual reality applications, technology implementation in teaching methods, educator preparation, and the TPACK framework. Information Technology faculty frequently engage in collaborative, grant-supported research with peers within the School of Education, across university departments (including the Colleges of Design and Engineering), and through global partnerships. Several faculty members also participate in Iowa State University's interdisciplinary graduate program in human-computer interaction.
