The Department of Economics at Iowa State University upholds a distinguished legacy in graduate education, offering a combined Ph.D. Program in economics and agricultural economics.
To obtain the Ph.D. degree, students must complete 72 graduate credits, with a minimum of 48 credits from formal coursework. The remaining credits can be fulfilled through dissertation research, workshop participation, or supplementary courses. A restricted number of graduate credits from other institutions may be transferred, subject to approval by both the Graduate College and the student's dissertation committee.
