The Master of Science in Criminal Justice and Public Safety (MSCJPS) is a 36-credit graduate program designed to equip students with analytical capabilities, theoretical foundations, empirical insights, and practical expertise relevant to law enforcement, judicial systems, corrections, and private security sectors.
This MSCJPS curriculum develops sophisticated research competencies, preparing graduates for professional roles in criminal justice or for pursuing doctoral studies in criminology and related fields. Students may also choose a thesis track tailored for those aiming for research-focused careers or advanced academic degrees.
The MSCJPS program benefits from O'Neill School faculty who collaborate with regional and national institutions, the university's urban setting, strong community ties with criminal justice agencies, and current social and economic trends that draw increasing numbers of students to metropolitan areas for education and career opportunities.
Students must have received a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) in the United States or another country.
All non-native speakers of English must also submit proof of English proficiency unless the applicant has a Bachelor's degree or higher from the US or a predominantly English-speaking country.
