The Master of Science in Biology is a graduate program provided by Purdue University through its Department of Biology.
This M.S. program caters to students interested in conducting research across various biological disciplines including developmental biology, cellular biology, ecology, biology education techniques, forensic biology, stem cell research, tissue regeneration, neuroscience, kidney physiology, DNA damage repair, and botanical studies. Students collaborate directly with faculty advisors, and our professors often partner with other School of Science departments as well as the IU School of Medicine. The non-thesis Master of Science in Biology is another Purdue University program administered by the Department of Biology.
The Biology Department provides three specialized paths for non-thesis master's degrees: a general track, an education-focused track, and a pre-professional track. The pre-professional non-thesis M.S. in Biology is an accelerated one-year curriculum designed to equip students for professional school challenges while enhancing their comprehension of biological sciences. Graduates will be qualified to pursue advanced studies in fields such as: Allopathic Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Genetic Counseling, Optometry, or Physician Assistant programs
