The Master of Science in Biology is a graduate program provided by Purdue University through its Department of Biology.

This M.S. program caters to students interested in conducting research across various biological disciplines including developmental biology, cellular biology, ecology, biology education techniques, forensic biology, stem cell research, tissue regeneration, neuroscience, kidney physiology, DNA damage repair, and botanical studies. You'll receive personalized guidance from a faculty advisor, with opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration across the School of Science and with IU School of Medicine researchers. The non-thesis Master of Science in Biology represents another Purdue University degree option within the Department of Biology.

The Biology Department provides three specialized pathways for non-thesis master's candidates: a general academic track, an education-focused track, and a pre-professional preparation track. The standard non-thesis M.S. in Biology necessitates completion of 30 credit hours post-bachelor's degree. Graduates from non-thesis programs often qualify for advanced roles in their existing careers. This flexible program particularly benefits working professionals, allowing for either part-time or full-time enrollment spread across at least three academic terms.
