Herron's Master of Design (M.Des.) program equips you to drive transformation in leadership positions across businesses, organizations, and communities. You'll learn to use design thinking to simplify, humanize, and invigorate complex challenges at every societal level.
Through this rigorous two-year curriculum, you'll master human-centered design approaches to enable collaborative problem-solving. The program trains you to lead cross-disciplinary teams in developing innovative solutions for products, services, and environments across both commercial and social sectors.
By earning all 60 credits, you'll graduate with demonstrated expertise in strategic design - empowering you to spearhead innovation, improve user experiences, and elevate your professional practice as a design leader.

Qualification Requirements
Official transcripts from each institution you attended must be sent to Herron's Office of Admissions and Student Services. Official transcripts must demonstrate a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and completion of a bachelor's degree.
If you are in the process of completing a bachelor's degree when you apply, a transcript showing your academic record through your current term of study is acceptable. If admitted to Herron, you must submit a final, official transcript verifying the completion and award of your degree.

TOEFL iBT of 79-99 or IELTS of 6.5-7.0 will take the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) placement test. Admitted students with Duolingo scores (min. accepted score - 110) will also be required to take the EAP placement test.
