The Social Entrepreneurship Certificate is an 18-credit academic program. This collaborative initiative involves Indiana UniversityPurdue University Indianapolis' School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Kelley School of Business, and Center on Philanthropy, exclusively for M.P.A. or M.B.A. candidates. The program equips students to creatively address societal challenges by blending business strategies with social objectives across corporate, nonprofit, and government spheres. Completion requires an internship component, fulfilled through either SPEA-V 585 Practicum in Public Affairs (06 credits), BUS-X 523 and BUS-X 524 Enterprise Experience I and II (1.5 credits each), or other approved hands-on learning experiences.

Undergraduate degree equivalent of a four-year U.S. baccalaureate degree 3.2 GPA or higher Combined score of 300 or more (verbal and quantitative) on the Graduate Record Examination (optional) TOEFL scores or the equivalent of English as a second language Official transcripts for work done outside of the Indiana University system Three letters of recommendation TOEFL iBT of 79-99 or IELTS of 6.5-7.0 will take the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) placement test.
