Doctoral candidates aiming for a PhD in Cellular and Integrative Physiology officially join the department's graduate program after finishing the initial year of the Indiana BioMedical Gateway (IBMG) PhD curriculum and choosing a faculty advisor for their thesis work.
Indiana University School of Medicine's Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology comprises an exceptional team of innovative researchers investigating fundamental cellular and physiological mechanisms, along with studies targeting various diseases such as cancer, diabetes, bone remodeling, and cardiovascular, renal, membrane, and respiratory disorders.
The department plays an active role in the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI), collaborating statewide to accelerate the application of biomedical discoveries for improving health outcomes in Indiana and elsewhere. This translational work encompasses technology transfer and advancing basic research into human clinical trials.
Students should apply for graduate status if you will have received a bachelor's degree (or its equivalent) in the United States or another country by the time you enroll at IUPUI.
All non-native speakers of English must also submit proof of English proficiency unless the applicant has a Bachelor's degree or higher from the US or a predominantly English-speaking country.
