The Chinese program aims to build a strong foundation for mastering the Chinese language and gaining insights into Chinese culture. Furthermore, it fulfills the Chinese language prerequisites for international studies majors concentrating on China.
The Chinese Studies Certificate requires completing 18 credit hours in approved Chinese studies or related courses, as determined by the program director. Through studying Chinese and East Asian cultures, students can examine diverse thought processes, develop innovative thinking skills, cultivate balanced connections with nature, contribute to society, and utilize traditional knowledge to address contemporary challenges.

You must submit full and complete academic records from every secondary school and university/post-secondary institution you have attended. Your records should also include any coursework currently in progress.
We do not require SAT or ACT test scores for admission or merit scholarship consideration.
Students who are admitted with TOEFL iBT of 60-94 or IELTS of 5.5-6.5 will take the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) placement test. Admitted students with Duolingo scores (min. accepted score - 90) will also be required to take the EAP placement test.
