Available to undergraduates of any major, the Child Abuse and Neglect Certificate equips students with essential understanding and abilities to address one of society's most pressing issues. Numerous institutions have recognized difficulties within the public child welfare sector. Careers in public child welfare remain emotionally intense and occasionally physically challenging, as professionals must make critical decisions affecting children's and families' wellbeing. Studies indicate that individuals with proper training for these roles tend to have higher job retention rates. This certificate program readies students for positions as family case managers in public child welfare and creates alternative career opportunities for those dedicated to assisting at-risk children and families affected by abuse and neglect.
