If you aspire to make a difference in youth development through health and physical education or seek a rewarding career in sports and physical activity, our physical education teacher education program opens doors to these professional opportunities.
This curriculum equips you to inspire participation in sports and physical activities while offering diverse student teaching placements and community-based practical experiences. You'll collaborate with experienced faculty to create fitness programs for students from pre-K through 12th grade, gaining real classroom teaching experience before graduation.
Graduates earn dual certification in both physical and health education, qualifying them to teach all grade levels across Indiana.
Beyond classroom teaching, our alumni often become athletic coaches, after-school program coordinators, and frequently advance to school leadership roles like principals. Other career paths include managing youth camps or sports organizations.

We do not require SAT or ACT test scores for admission or merit scholarship consideration.
Students who are admitted with TOEFL iBT of 60-94 or IELTS of 5.5-6.5 will take the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) placement test. Admitted students with Duolingo scores (min. accepted score - 90) will also be required to take the EAP placement test.
