Economics examines how people manage resources to meet their needs and wants. As a modern discipline, it employs mathematical and logical frameworks to understand, interpret, and forecast the actions of economic participants (individuals, businesses, governments) as they engage with one another and with systems like markets, organizations, and belief systems. These analytical models evolve through statistical evaluation of real-world economic information. Students can choose between a broad curriculum or a math-intensive specialization. The standard program builds strong theoretical foundations while preparing learners for practical challenges faced in corporate, nonprofit, or public sector roles.
The Economics BA program equips you with core economic principles and practical skills applicable to careers in business, nonprofit organizations, or government institutions.
Students must have earned a diploma from an accredited high school before you enroll at IUPUI.
