Anthropology examines human societies, biological traits, and social dynamics throughout history and geography. This field encompasses archaeological exploration of ancient and modern artifacts, ethnographic research on global and domestic cultures, investigations into human evolution and physical variations, and studies on language development and usage. The program highlights real-world applications of anthropological principles, theories, and techniques. It enhances student development in three key aspects: expanding awareness of diverse human experiences, offering comparative insights to appreciate cultural differences and ethical values in our interconnected world, and delivering hands-on learning opportunities. As a comprehensive field, anthropology covers four primary areas: Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Archaeology, and Linguistic Anthropology. The Anthropology Department within the School of Liberal Arts explores numerous subjects including skeletal biology, historical archaeology, urban societies, social change, gender studies, ethnic relations, migration patterns, diaspora communities, and other related topics.
