The Africana Studies program equips undergraduate students for successful careers or advanced studies at local, national, and global levels. It establishes a strong theoretical framework and fundamental knowledge about African diaspora communities, creating a solid base for further academic exploration in the field. Acknowledging the significance of intercultural awareness and geographical variations within African experiences, the program offers students a comprehensive, global outlook on the lives, histories, and cultures of African-descended populations across the Americas, Caribbean, Europe, and Africa. To maintain program consistency, students are required to take both an introductory course and a culminating senior seminar.
