Children in pre-K through high school require guidance at every stage of their learning journey. This degree prepares you to offer career guidance, personal growth support, decision-making assistance, communication skills development, academic planning, and community engagement opportunities. Through specialized counseling courses with hands-on practice in both elementary and secondary school settings, you'll gain comprehensive training for pre-K-12 certification. The program includes a substantial 600-hour supervised internship with an experienced school counselor.

This program's distinctive feature is its developmental approach to school counseling. Young learners thrive when they can enhance self-understanding and cultivate essential life skills that help them navigate various experiences.

The counseling methodology follows a structured yet adaptable sequence, engages all educators, supports more effective student learning, and is directed by qualified counselors delivering targeted support services.

The curriculum holds accreditation from both the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
