Your coursework will include specialized classes such as Reading Instruction Methods for Individuals with Disabilities, Fundamentals of American Sign Language, Transition Planning for Young Adults with Disabilities, Psychological Principles in Education, and Specialized Education for Emotional/Behavioral Disorders, Learning Differences, or Acquired Brain Injuries.
An essential internship component provides practical experience, while 23 elective credits allow for adding a complementary minor. Suggested minor options encompass child development and family dynamics, educational psychology, social sciences, or psychological studies. These minors enable participation in relevant professional organizations or lay the foundation for graduate-level education.
Earning a Bachelor of Science in Disability Services equips you for professional roles assisting individuals with disabilities across diverse public and private organizations, including mental health services and programs for those with cognitive impairments.
