As an environmental health science student working toward a Bachelor of Science at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, you'll expand your understanding of natural sciences while refining your analytical and critical thinking abilities.
Through IUP's curriculum, you'll develop skills to recognize, assess, and control elements that negatively affect human health and environmental stability. These elements encompass air pollution, contaminated food and water, hazardous waste, infectious diseases, unsafe living conditions, and global ecological pressures.
Your coursework will include subjects like General Microbiology, Environmental Health and Protection, Toxicology and Risk Assessment Basics, Environmental Epidemiology Principles, and Organic Chemistry. You'll also select from electives such as Air Pollution Studies, Radiation Health, Urban Planning Introduction, and Hydrogeology. A practical internship will complement your academic learning with hands-on professional experience.
