Students drawn to psychology typically have a deep fascination with human behavior and its underlying causes. Many aspire to assist others in overcoming challenges, possess a strong drive to comprehend the brain's connection to actions, or seek insights into behavioral parallels between humans and animals. As psychology students, they develop skills in research design, execution, and analysis.
IUP's Psychology BA program requires selecting one course from each of six fundamental study areas plus two electives. Potential course options range from Child Psychology and Abnormal Psychology to Experimental Social Psychology, Physiological Psychology, Learning Theories, Gender Studies in Psychology, Psychopharmacology, Legal Psychology, and Workplace Psychology.
The program also mandates selecting a minor or focus area in another field. Psychology students enjoy full flexibility to pick any complementary minor that aligns with their passions or professional goals. Current students frequently combine their studies with minors in Biology, Family Studies, Educational Psychology, or Sociology.
