The geography honors program admits majors by departmental approval who maintain a minimum 3.25 overall university GPA and a 3.25 GPA in geography courses. Once students reach 57 completed credits, all eligible individuals will receive an invitation to enroll in the Geography Honors Track.
Participants take CHSS 489, an interdisciplinary colloquium focused on problem-solving, discussions, readings, and writing centered around a specific topic or theme, along with GEOG 483 Honors Thesis and HNRC 499 Honors Senior Synthesis, which satisfies the Liberal Studies Synthesis requirement. A 3.0 average must be maintained throughout the honors track.
