Our doctoral program in Second Language Studies showcases the exceptional scope, depth, and academic rigor of our department. Candidates in our Ph.D. program gain comprehensive training in analyzing, learning, and applying non-native languages, emerging as highly skilled researchers and educators. Doctoral students frequently showcase their work not just at our weekly Friday Afternoon Research Colloquium, but also at leading industry conferences. Applicants whose native language is not English should submit proof of such proficiency by the time they apply for admission. Normally this is done by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Results of this test should be submitted as part of the application for admission.
