Our Ph.D. program in Medical Anthropology provides targeted academic training for students seeking specialized studies in this field. The program features faculty from both bioanthropology and sociocultural anthropology whose research and teaching directly address human health, illness, or related theoretical frameworks. While we expect most Medical Anthropology students to focus primarily on bioanthropology or sociocultural anthropology, this concentration remains open to students from all anthropological disciplines.
