Indiana University School of Medicine provides two distinct routes to earn a PhD in Anatomy and Cell Biology. The Education Track equips students for teaching roles in anatomy and physiology along with educational research, while the Biomedical Research Track trains students for laboratory-based scientific careers.

Applicants whose native language is not English should submit proof of such proficiency by the time they apply for admission. Normally this is done by taking the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Results of this test should be submitted as part of the application for admission.
