PhD candidates at Kelley receive comprehensive training via academic courses, faculty guidance, scholarly research, publication opportunities, and teaching experience. From the program's outset, you'll collaborate with professors while developing skills to effectively convey sophisticated concepts as an educator. Your journey culminates in establishing expertise through designing, executing, and defending original research. Information systems doctoral candidates must complete a minor concentration (typically 3-4 courses or 9-12 credit hours) alongside their major. Popular minor selections include organizational behavior, cognitive psychology, social psychology, and management. Those without teaching background must complete a preparatory course (X630) before their initial teaching assignment, which may occur either before or after comprehensive examinations.
