If you aspire to a career as a solo performer, orchestral musician, or academic, our woodwind programs offer the perfect fit. Our distinguished faculty of internationally renowned artists will push you to grow musically, professionally, and educationally. Drawing from extensive experience in orchestral playing, chamber music, solo recordings, and teaching, they provide daily exposure to exceptional musical knowledge. As a woodwind student at Jacobs School of Music, you'll participate in over 1,100 annual performances. Performance opportunities range from solo recitals to chamber groups and large ensembles, including six orchestras, two symphonic bands, early music ensembles, contemporary music groups, and comprehensive chamber music offerings. Jazz and historical performance studies are also available.

Qualification Requirements

Student must earn a diploma from an accredited high school (or must have completed the Indiana High School Equivalency Diploma) to be eligible for admission consideration. Students who are homeschooled or attend an alternative school should submit credentials that demonstrate equivalent levels of achievement and ability. To complete your application for admission, we require an official high school transcript and a full senior year schedule.
