The Bachelor of Arts featuring an interdisciplinary major combining linguistics and anthropology aims to cultivate students' critical thinking skills regarding social science and humanities topics, with language, culture, and their interconnections serving as central themes. This program includes foundational courses in sociocultural anthropology, linguistic studies, and the interplay between language and culture. Students then choose to specialize in either African or American studies, delving deeply into the languages and cultures of their selected region. Additional coursework offers historical insights into language development and practical research experience through fieldwork classes. The curriculum is structured to help students develop a comprehensive understanding of indigenous linguistic and cultural communities in either Africa or the Americas.
