Our institution provides two distinct social work degree options: a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW). The undergraduate BSW program focuses on foundational knowledge and skills for broad-based social work practice across diverse populations and environments. Our graduate MSW program specializes in clinical training with an emphasis on rural community service, featuring an accelerated advanced standing track that allows qualified BSW graduates to earn their MSW in just three semesters. Both curricula incorporate substantial field internship components where students gain hands-on experience with real clients in professional settings, supervised by seasoned practitioners. Each year, our BSW and MSW candidates contribute more than 30,000 service hours to regional agencies through these internships, creating meaningful community impact. The MSW represents an advanced graduate qualification that enables specialized practice, offering pathways to licensure and roles such as mental health caseworkers, child protection specialists, and addiction counselors. Typically spanning two years, MSW programs qualify graduates for state certification required for clinical practice. Whether you hold a BSW or a degree in another discipline, the MSW serves as your pathway to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), authorizing advanced therapeutic services, individual counseling, and leadership roles. These programs concentrate on specialized fields including family services, child advocacy, bereavement support, and addiction treatment, incorporating supervised practical training throughout the curriculum.
